The AMPL Story
Paulina Michalek grew up in the Czech Republic where wine was frequently shared with friends at the family table. These dinners along with the flavors and memories were the start of her lifelong fascination with all aspects of wine.
After Paulina graduated from college in Chicago, she moved to San Francisco to pursue her career in finance and it was there that her interest in wine grew. Frequent trips to the Napa Valley with her husband Libor, also from the Czech Republic, led to an eventual move to their home on Howell Mountain where they are currently raising their sons, Alex and Max.
AMPL Wine is the result of her exploration of the craft of fine winemaking. She chose the first four letters of each of her family's names: Alex, Max, Paulina, and Libor, to name her wines and create a shared family dream.
She launched AMPL in 2019 and now in her third vintage, she continues to inspire while generously sharing her wine with others around their family table and community. AMPL now offers allocation-only memberships and is available for purchase in select retail and online.

Jon Jones has been making wine in the Napa Valley for over 20 years, with stints at Mondavi, Merryvale, and Opus One. Today, Jon consults for several Napa wineries, while continuing to produce wine under his family’s Paravel label. With an understanding that there are many different palates in the world, Jon keeps it simple, focusing on making wines that are balanced and approachable from the start. Unsurpassed quality in farming practices allow for vineyard designated wines to display the unique personality of each vineyard in every bottle of wine.
